Project Summary

The Jain Society of Calgary (JSOC) is moving forward with a medium-term solution to finally secure an independent Jain Place of Worship.

  • Goal: Purchase and establish our own property where the community can gather for prayers, pujas, and religious celebrations.

  • Location: Within Calgary city limits for easy accessibility to all families.

  • Size: Approximately 2,000–3,000 sq. ft. suitable for daily darshan, weekend events, and Pathshala classes.

  • Ownership: 100% owned and operated by JSOC, ensuring full independence and decision-making authority.

  • Timeline: Immediate purchase and minor renovations for occupancy within 6–12 months.

Vision

Our vision is to create a dedicated spiritual home for the Jain community where:

  • We have daily darshan of Tirthankaras in a proper Derasar setting.

  • Community members can celebrate Paryushan, Snatra Puja, Weekend Puja, and other events without relying on temporary rented spaces.

  • Children and youth can learn Jain principles and participate in Pathshala and cultural programs.

  • The space serves as a hub for unity, culture, and spiritual growth.

Why Medium-Term?
